Audiology services for children

Why test hearing?
Normal hearing is essential to speech and language development and
problems with hearing can affect communication, social and educational outcomes for children.
Audiological assessment will test your child’s hearing as well as the general health of the hearing system.
Hearing problems can be temporary or permanent, but if you have any of the concerns below, your child should have an audiological assessment to rule out hearing or ear health problems:
- Concerns about speech
- Concerns about listening
- Suspected ear infections
- Suspected hearing loss
- Poor educational outcomes
- Balance problems
Who tests hearing?
We only employ audiologists who have experience working with children. An Audiologist is a university trained health professional who specialises in testing hearing and balance..
Telethon Speech and Hearing is a not-for-profit organization. All proceeds go towards our various community programs.
Fees are payable on the day.
Medicare rebates and Private Health Rebates do not apply to audiological services.
