Welcome
Welcome to the Telethon Speech & Hearing Centre for Children Western Australia. We are a non-profit organisation that since 1967 has helped speech delayed and hearing-impaired children learn to listen and speak.
We offer playgroup, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and pre-primary programs as well as support programs for school-aged children.
The focus at our Centre is on auditory-verbal based therapy. We can help and work with children as soon as they are diagnosed. |

The Centre employs a team of specialists to ensure children have the highest level of professional assistance and advice. The team includes audiologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists and specialist teachers of the deaf.
For regional families, the Centre has a distance education option available via video conferencing linked to the statewide Telehealth network.
The Centre also provides:
- Newborn hearing screening programs (WISH Program) in private maternity hospitals
- An Ear Clinic for children with hard to treat middle ear infections
- Cochlear Implant programs for local and overseas children
From our work we know that children who are born deaf can live normal and productive lives with the gift of speech. With our help they reach their individual potential.
