On Friday 2nd November, Telethon Speech & Hearing had a special visit from a group of young mums and their children.
Arriving from the Port School Young Parent Centre, these mums and bubs were part of a unique screening program providing health and hearing checks for their children. Some of these children needed an extra check from our Audiology team.
Collaborating with Connecting Community for Kids, our Audiologists saw 7 children. Of this number, 6 need medical review and intervention for hearing loss or related problems. Without this collaboration, these children would have remained with undiagnosed hearing loss and its ongoing consequences.
