Reading & Spelling with Children | Telethon Speech & Hearing
TSH Talkabout Literacy Classroom

Is your child finding reading and spelling tricky?

Children with speech and language difficulties or disorders are at greater risk of experiencing literacy difficulties as they enter formal schooling.

This is thought to be the case as both speech & language development and literacy development rely on some of the same cognitive processes.

Telethon Speech & Hearing’s Talkabout Literacy provides small group intervention for children who are experiencing reading and spelling difficulties at school.

Eligibility

Available for students in Years 1, 2 and 3, Talkabout Literacy adopts an evidence-based, synthetic phonics approach to teaching reading and spelling – essential for struggling readers.

Class sizes are capped at 6 and children work in small groups of 3 with a Specialist Teacher or Speech Pathologist and Education Assistant.
