Buranymarda Marugundi Program

This program is a joint initiative between Teach Speak Hear (TSH) and Ear Foundation Australia to deliver ear health, hearing, speech and occupational therapy services to children in the Mid West region of Western Australia.

1. Privacy Statement

Buranymarda Marugundi adheres to all applicable legislative requirements regarding privacy and confidentiality, including those detailed in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988. Buranymarda Marugundi may use information obtained from families for service evaluation, quality improvement activities, internal reviews and analysis of our clinical population. If this information is disseminated outside of Buranymarda Marugundi, it is deidentified to ensure the privacy of all families.

Reports outlining the outcomes of the assessments will be provided to the parent/guardian. With parent/guardian consent, reports may also be provided to health professionals and the child’s school.

2. Data Collection Use

Buranymarda Marugundi requests permission for your child’s anonymised data to be collected and used in the following manner;

  • to evaluate the effectiveness of Buranymarda Marugundi‘s service delivery models and for reporting purposes; and/or
  • to support reporting through Buranymarda Marugundi‘s digital platforms, including social media channels, brand website and public reports; and/or
  • to share anonymised information with government departments and agencies (e.g. the Department of Health, WA Country Health Service (WACHS), Child and Adolescent Health Service, and Department of Education), as well as other relevant organisations (e.g. Hearing Australia), and funding bodies or philanthropic organisations.

It is important to note that your child’s data will be anonymised before being shared with any of the organisations listed above or through TSH and Ear Foundation Australia’s digital channels.

Additionally, audio and/or video recordings of your child may be made as part of your child’s screening and assessments. The recording will only be used by Buranymarda Marugundi’s team to aid in your child’s assessment. All recordings will be stored securely within TSH and Ear Foundation Australia’s systems and permanently deleted after 60 days.
