The online landscape is a minefield for both parents and teachers and it is important to be educated in what the current issues and threats are facing our children, and how to best address them.

The Telethon Kids Institute is based within Perth Children’s Hospital and is one of the largest and most successful medical research institutes in Australia.

Melanie and her team are currently working on a new research project that focuses on the safe and positive use of digital devices by young children. Melanie will also share up to date resources and information for school leadership teams and parents.

Jordan is formally recognised as one of Australia’s leading cyber safety experts and was the winner of the 2018 WA Young Achiever Award for founding ySafe.

ySafe is Australia’s most trusted provider of online safety education and consultation for students, parents, schools and organisations, and is comprised of an award winning team of psychologists, education specialists and law enforcers.

Jordan also specialises in clinical practice working with children and teenagers with issues relating to technology use, including problematic gaming, excessive screen time & cyber bullying.

Former police officer & Founder of Surf Online Safe

Paul is highly regarded as one of Australia’s leading key-note speakers on internet awareness.

Paul was a police officer for 20 years, including working within the Technology Crime Investigation Unit.

In this role he dealt personally with victims of cyber-bullying, grooming and predatory behaviour and this led him to create Surf Online Safe (SOS) as a way to drive change.

We will also hear from young Sian Williams, Founder and Ambassador of Kidzucate.

12 year old Sian Williams suffered bullying at school at a very young age due to her stutter. Sian refused to become another statistic and found a fun, kid friendly solution to her problem. Sian will speak about her personal experience of bullying and how she was able to overcome it.
