Telethon Speech & Hearing is excited to invite you to explore our school from home through this immersive online ‘Open Morning’ experience. Take a 360 degree tour of our Wembley campus, including our Talkabout and Chatterbox classrooms, occupational therapy gymnasium and dedicated speech and language library.

Telethon Speech & Hearing is a registered NDIS provider and provides transparent, unbiased NDIS advise. Funding and scholarships may be available to eligible children.

Mid-year enrolments are accepted and families may self-refer their child. Simply email us or call 9387 9888 for a personalised discussion with one of our friendly team. 

Talkabout Playgroups

Talkabout is a specialised language program for children who are experiencing a speech and language delay or disorder.

Our Talkabout playgroups are suitable for children aged 18 months to 3 years, who are at risk of developing a speech and language delay or disorder. Language facilitation strategies are demonstrated through play-based activities during each session and caregivers are shown how to apply these strategies at home.

Families have access to a multidisciplinary team of expert educators and therapists and are encouraged to attend regular networking and educational sessions throughout the year.

Talkabout 4 & 5 Classrooms

Talkabout 4 and 5 are both curriculum compliant school programs providing Evidence-based learning supported by the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation.

This unique combination of education and therapy is a valuable collaboration that allows our teams to help achieve excellent outcomes for your child. Small class sizes with lessons delivered by early education teachers and clinical specialists.

Talkabout is a part-time program that runs collaboratively alongside your child's mainstream school. Children are eligible to enrol during their kindergarten or pre-primary years.

Chatterbox Playgroup Room

Chatterbox is an early intervention program for children with hearing loss aged 0-5 years.

Chatterbox playgroups provide the opportunity for families to connect, and offer each other support in a safe and welcoming setting. Our team of professionals provides strategies and techniques for parents to use, to help support various aspects of their child’s development. This includes speech, language and listening, as well as motor skills, coordination, self-care, socialisation, and play.

Engaging activities and toys are set up each week for the children and their families to enjoy. Children are grouped with similar-aged peers to offer specific support.

Family Retreat Room

Support For The Entire Family with a Family Liaison Officer and social events to help connect with other families.

This room is available for use by parents and families whose children are enrolled in our programs, and is equipped with coffee/tea making facilities, toys, toilet facilities and parent information.

Families may like to use this room to: relax while waiting for an appointment, catch up with other parents after dropping children off at class, discuss information with our dedicated NDIS consultant, or attend a parent education talk/workshop.

Occupational Therapy Gym

All Telethon Speech & Hearing children have access to our sensorimotor gymnasium and multi-sensory room, as appropriate.

The gym is the children’s favourite part of their day.  They learn gross motor skills, how to jump, balance and develop their core strength. Because it’s fun they love to do it over and over again.

Our Library

Telethon Speech & Hearing has its own dedicated library, with resources for both children and adults.

Resources include children's books carefully selected to suit ages 0 to 5 years old, Blank question kits to support children in grasping early comprehension skills, parent resources to help families understand their child's diagnosis, and play bags including puzzles and games designed for fun!

Talkabout: Registered school programs and therapy playgroups for children with speech or language difficulties

Telethon Speech & Hearing’s Talkabout program supports children aged 18 months to 7 years with speech and language delays through a multi-disciplinary approach. Talkabout enables your child to access a team of educational and clinical professionals, all under one roof. Classes are kept small, so each child’s developmental needs can be individually supported. Families are also encouraged to attend regular networking and educational sessions so as to support them on their child’s early years journey.
